Colors and fragrances
Colors and fragrances are more than just welcome stimuli.
Without any ifs or buts, nature plays out an infinite number of complex biological processes – life-promoting, life-sustaining – also for you. That and how herbal colors and fragrances provide important protection for your health and daily care, while also ensuring vitality and a radiant appearance.
It is part of our conviction to work exclusively with natural fragrances – pure essential oils. They are among nature’s most precious gifts. Through the fragrance you come into contact with the essence of a plant, with its soul, with that which makes it unique and distinguishes it from all other plants. Fragrances reach the emotional center in your limbic system directly via the olfactory nerves. This explains why some fragrances are so touching and can evoke intense sensual perceptions.
Whether you perceive a fragrance as restorative or as irritating depends primarily on how balanced it is and how it is able to develop. These properties, in turn, are direct evidence of the growth history of a plant, where cultivation, environmental and harvest conditions play a decisive role. The more stressed the development of a plant, the more unbalanced its essential oils develop. In the worst case, certain potential for irritation can develop. Conversely, essential oils that come from organically grown or wild plants conjure up incredibly beautiful, rounded fragrances that are simply good for us deep down.
Vitamins of the 3rd millennium
It is the so-called secondary plant substances that give plants, fruits and vegetables their characteristic colors, smells and aromas. Formed by the plant as self-protection, the secondary plant substances protect against pests or the negative effects of UV radiation. Since these substances are only found in very small quantities in plants, they have not received much attention for a long time. They are now on the same level as vitamins, minerals and dietary fiber and are also referred to by science as “vitamins of the 3rd millennium”.
Protection against diseases of civilization
Numerous research results prove the positive effects of secondary plant substances: protection against cancer, protection against cardiovascular diseases, antibacterial and antiviral effects, improvement of long-term memory, protection against harmful free radicals, strengthening of the body’s own defense system.
In contrast to the primary plant substances (such as fats, proteins and carbohydrates) they have no nutritional properties for humans.
It is assumed that there are around 30,000 secondary plant substances, of which only 10,000 have been researched in detail to date.
Eat fresh fruits and vegetables
If you eat a lot of fresh fruit and vegetables every day,
you consume a healthy mixture and sufficient protective secondary plant substances. So it is not surprising that the people on Crete who have such an eating habit have a very low rate of cardiovascular diseases.
Carotenoids are widely found in your daily food.
You find them in carrots and apricots, broccoli, kale, rose and cauliflower, in green vegetables and salads, melons and citrus fruits.
The red pigment lycopene contained in tomatoes also belongs to this group.
Polyphenols (tannins and fragrances) and flavonoids (coloring and protective substances) occur in almost all plants, for example in green tea and in grapes, to name just two known ones.

Secondary plant substances
Our products contain a wide variety of phytochemicals because they provide your skin with protective potential. As an example the extract from the alga “Haematococcus pluviales” (astaxanthin), which contains the red pigment carotene in a high concentration and thus protects the alga from sunlight.
Research from Hawaii, Ireland and the USA confirms these antioxidant light protection properties of astaxanthin for human skin as well.
That is why this “miracle substance” was built into the formulation of your facial products.
In addition to astaxanthin you will find a range of active ingredients in your products that are revealing an immense wide range of different secondary plant substances. All for the joy of your skin and your well-being!
